Ensemble leader Alicia Lindberg is a singer, composer, and producer based in New York whose musical voice stands out as a singular blend of the textural complexities of improvised music and the lyricism of contemporary pop. With her ensemble project LINDA 917, Swedish experimental singer /songwriter Alicia Lindberg immerses herself in new explorations of abstract improvisation and composition using electronic effects to augment her artistic language. Her music is a unique space where Scandinavian pop music, experimental music, and jazz are allowed to coexist and build the foundation on which she tells her intriguing personal stories.
Linda 917’s upcoming album ONLINE, slated for release in late spring of 2026, is a self-produced and self-engineered body of entirely original work. It showcases Alicia Lindberg’s strengths as a composer and her distinctive production style, featuring songs that blend the complexities of contemporary jazz with the textural landscapes of free improvisation and the ambient depth of post-produced sampling. The project channels her curiosity into bold, genre-blurring compositions that feel both raw and refined.
During 2025 and 2026, LINDA 917 premiered their music at New York’s experimental and underground venues, establishing LINDA 917 as an experimental band with a unique musical dialect, a kind of microgenre that redefines the limits of the contemporary jazz landscape, declares artistic independence, and signals that LINDA 917 is emerging as a distinctive voice on the global scene.
